Full Description
Day 1: Marrakech – Imlil 1740m – Tizi Mzik Pass 2479m – Red Valley – Tamsoult Refuge 2550m
Start your adventure with a morning pickup in Marrakech, then drive towards the High Atlas Mountains via Tahnnaout, Oued Ghighaya, and Asni. Enjoy stunning views of the villages along the valley. Arrive in Imlil (65 km from Marrakech), where you’ll meet your guide and muleteer. Begin your trek by climbing the Tizi Mzik Pass (2479m), offering spectacular views over the Imlil Valley and the Toubkal Summit. Continue to Tamsoult, visiting the highest waterfalls in the Atlas Mountains (100m) through a juniper forest. Overnight at the Tamsoult Refuge.

– Elevation Gain: 800m up, 400m down
– Duration: 5-6 hours
Day 2: Tamsoult Refuge 2550m – Aguelzim Pass 3650m – Toubkal Refuge 3207m
Today is a challenging day as you significantly increase the average altitude of the trek. Start with a demanding ascent to the Aguelzim Pass (3450m). The climb is long but gradual. From the pass, admire views of the Toubkal Summit before descending towards the Toubkal Base Camp at 3207m.
– Trek Distance: 10 km
– Elevation Gain: 1200m up, 300m down
– Duration: 6 hours
Day 3: Toubkal Refuge 3207m – Toubkal Summit 4167m – Imlil 1740m – Marrakech
Rise early to conquer the summit of Mount Toubkal (4167m). If the weather permits, enjoy breathtaking views over the Atlas Range and the Sahara Desert. Descend past the refuge and follow the well-worn path back to Imlil. This is a long day, with 8-9 hours of trekking, involving a 900m ascent and a 2,500m descent. You’ll be dropped off in Marrakech around 5:00 PM.
– Trek Distance: 4 km to the summit, then 4 km descent
– Elevation Gain/Loss: 980m up and down to summit, then 1400m down to Imlil
– Duration: 5 hours to summit, 5 hours descent
